Trouble with Pop ? or Moving from POP to IMAP in no time at all, well almost

When you are using email on more than one machine, for instance a PC and a Laptop, it can be tricky if you reply to a message from the PC for instance, because you will have no record of having done so on the Laptop, hum, the answer would seem to be IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol). Now if you have spent ages setting up your email just how you like it you are probably not looking forward to swapping accounts or setting up all your Rules and Filters again. You might even have read that Thunderbird cannot actually transfer accounts from POP to IMAP, ah, ha, well that might all be true but this nifty article at MozillaZine explains it in very easy to follow steps and although you will need to start by backing up all your email’s, this might be just the excuse you need to do that long overdue backup, I know it was for me 🙂
